Tom Russell is a Senior Editor at Furniture Today, where he has worked for the past 14 years covering wood furniture and related segments of the case goods business. He has traveled to many countries covering the global sourcing and product development nature of the furniture industry. In addition to China, he has traveled extensively in Vietnam, Malaysia and Indonesia where he has visited many factories and communicated their strategies related to the U.S. market. Russell also writes for Furniture Today’s sister publication, Kids Today, which is published quarterly in Furniture Today as well as daily editions during the High Point and Las Vegas markets.
Before joining Furniture Today, Russell was editor of Triad Business News, a business-to-business publication covering High Point, Greensboro, Winston-Salem and surrounding areas of the Piedmont Triad region of North Carolina. He also has been a reporter at daily and weekly publications in Atlantic City, N.J., High Point, N.C., Newport News, Va. and Suffolk, Va.
Russell graduated from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Va. with a Bachelor of Arts in 1988 and received his Master’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2004.
